Meet the Therapists

  • Rachel Edington

    Rachel Edington, MA, PCLC

Unresolved trauma, stress, and grief can cause one to feel lost, hopeless, and suffer from feelings of depression, anxiety, and even chronic pain and illness. It can make it difficult to get up in the mornings, to participate in pleasurable activities, to have healthy relationships, and cause you to feel completely overwhelmed.

I use a collaborative approach to help equip you with practical tools and strategies needed to adequately navigate life’s challenges. Together we will work to identify your strengths and areas for growth, fostering personal development, increased ability to cope, and resiliency. I utilize a distinctive blend of CBT, DBT, Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy to help you build effective coping skills, release emotional trauma, and transform how pain is perceived.

With the right skills and emotional support, you can achieve a remarkable transformation in your life.

Rachel holds a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, B.S. in Psychology-Crisis, APT’s level two certification in DBT and is a certified Pain Reprocessing Therapy specialist through painreprocessingtherapy.com

    Elizabeth Harper-Schurman, LCPC

What happened to you yesterday may be affecting you today. The way today goes has an impact on tomorrow. Together we can uncover your truths, your strengths, your path. You may learn to apply your values and boundaries to every part of life. The answers to your life are buried inside of you. Only you know the details. Together we can uncover what you are looking for.

We all have parts of us that we would like to make better. We can acknowledge each part of ourselves and give ourselves permission to grow. Together we will create a plan designed especially for you in a safe place, without judgment, honoring your uniqueness, your culture, beliefs, and experiences.

As a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I encourage individuals, couples, and families to heal and grow through processing and learning skills to overcome obstacles, change behaviors, and realize a sense of self worth. If you are going through a life change and need help understanding it, have experienced trauma and need help healing, or are living with a diagnosis and want to learn skills to help you in life reach out, let us create a plan.

  • Michelle Huyck

    Michelle Huyck, PCLC

I have experience working with clients who are navigating chronic pain/chronic illness, physical disabilities, addiction, grief, loss, religious trauma, ADHD, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I value learning from my clients and providing psychoeducation. I lean on my clients to teach me about their life, their relationships, and their experiences.

Therapy is successful due to the therapeutic relationship, which is the catalyst for change. I believe that therapy is not one size fits all. I invite you to ask questions, talk about concerns, share your goals, and discuss what therapy might look like for you.

“Trauma is personal. It does not disappear if it is not validated. When it is ignored or invalidated the silent screams continue internally heard only by the one held captive. When someone enters the pain and hears the screams healing can begin”. ― Danielle Bernock

I also have a four legged assistant, Trooper! Trooper is a 4-year old black lab. He attended graduate school with me since he was 8 weeks old. He graduated with a masters in sniff-ology and is a recognized AKC canine good citizen. He loves to greet all his clients with a toy from his (overflowing) basket and provides support and tail wags as needed— he would love to join you on the couch if you invite him!

In my free time I enjoy spending time outside, painting, fly fishing, walks with Trooper, riding my horses, drinking tea, reading research, eating good food, spending time with family and friends.

  • Emma Mittelstadt

    Emma Mittelstadt, SWLC

You are deserving of the time and space it takes to heal and grow. Many of us find ourselves 'surviving' rather than 'living' at times; mindlessly wandering day-to-day questioning our purpose, wondering where the passion has gone. Whether it’s due to a major life adjustment, depression, anxiety, grief, or simply feeling stuck.

If you are navigating a difficult moment or a recent challenge, know that you can expect a safe, confidential environment to explore your thoughts and emotions. Together, we can work toward finding your path to healing and renewal. My approach is client-centered and strength-based; utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, and cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy intervention. I specialize in areas such as grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and PTSD.

I grew up in Minnesota and deeply appreciate all of the beauty that Montana has to offer. In my free time, you can find me spending time outside fishing, hiking, and swimming. Crocheting, knitting, and reading are passions of mine as well.

Reaching out for help is a courageous step, and I’m here to assist you or your loved one. I’m currently accepting new clients, in office or virtually, please call or email to schedule a 15 minute consultation free of charge to see if we’re a good fit. Let’s work together to help you feel your best.

Are you looking to feel heard and understood? I believe that there is such grace in our stories, and while not all roads are created straight, we often find that winding broken roads can be the most difficult and beautiful.  Through safe exploration of your life experiences we can find your path to great resilience and strength, but the first step towards wholeness is determining you want things to be different.

When we sit down together and chat you can expect for us to get down to the heart of the matter, and explore your situation, thoughts and feelings in such a ways to help you feel seen and understood.  Through empathic reflection we will together select new skills and techniques that will best fit your needs and help you move from feeling stuck in emotional pain to feeling more yourself and ready to meet the world again.
